Disappearances
So what are you telling me? Three artefacts have gone missing in less then two hours? An irritated General Landry said in front of SG-1. They sat at the meeting table in front of him, as confused as Landry was from just hearing about it. Resting on the table were two artefacts, a pot and a metal cube, not missing like the other relics.
It doesnt make sense, who would steal a bunch of old pots and figurines? It would make more sense to take weapons or equipment, something valuable
Mitchell said while playing with the cube, spinning it around on one of its edges. One of the artefacts was a yellow crystal; perhaps whoever took it took a few of the other artefacts, believing them to be of value also? Tealc replied, watching Mitchell from across the table.
From what I can tell from those two, the artefacts brought back from P2R-49A, they dont match in symbols or even materials used by any society we know. That rune covered cube is made of some unknown metal, the lab is running tests but I dont think it will get a match to any known alloy on file Sam added to Daniels sentence.
What did the security cameras record? The General asked, sitting down in front of everyone. Me and Tealc checked the recordings, but someone must have gotten to them first. Mitchell replied, putting the cube down. It appears that someone shut the appropriate cameras with well timed accuracy Or to put it simply, this guy had help, a lot of help. Mitchell quipped, a second after Tealc had finished.
We suspect one or more of the new personnel may have taken the artefacts. Each one, as well as SG-6 is being questioned about the theft. Alright, lets try to find the culprits before anything else goes missing, I dont want walk into my office one day and find everything missing. Dismissed The General ordered, before standing up in front of SG-1.
Dont worry sir, me and Tealc will watch for anyone trying to carry your desk out of the base Mitchell replied with a smirk, humouring Landry a little. See that you do. The General said sarcastically, before walking out of the briefing room. The rest of SG-1 joined him, getting up and leaving the room.
With all the soldiers here, its amazing how someone can steal some old junk from right under your noses Vala said, standing next to Daniel. Well, the person obviously had help An annoyed Daniel replied sarcastically. Both sat inside the cafeteria, with Daniel reading while Vala sat opposite him, eating.
If I was the thief, I would have taken weapons or some of the technology the Asgard left us Vala said, thinking out loud. Daniel looked up, flashing Vala a look before replying. How do we know it wasnt you? He replied, trying to make Vala shut up, even though he didnt mean it. Like I said, I would of taken weapons Vala said with a crafty smirk, before lifting up another bite of food.
Humph, well
We better hope that the new Asgard computer Sam is working on stays in the lab. We almost lost the technology once; I doubt everyone will be happy to see it to happen again. Daniel replied, before sinking his head back into his book. Oh yeah, that computer. Vala said uninterestedly, but still curious.
She had been told about it, if built it would be the most powerful computer ever created by the Tauri, even though it was Asgard based with elements from old technology from the Ancients. Several guards and constant surveillance was ordered on the lab, to make sure it didnt end up like the relics and a previous Asgard based Tauri creation.
A few weeks after SG-1 returned with the Asgard technology, work began on a new power core, an upgraded version normally used on Tauri ships such as the Odyssey. After its completion, it was moved to Area 51, but was taken on route without the convoy ever knowing. After reaching the base, the core on the back of the truck was gone, as well as the trailer it was on. The military, as well as the SGC were confused to how it disappeared, but suspected the NID. The truck drivers were questioned, but werent held responsible, since they were trusted members of the SGC. The military engaged in a major investigation, trying to find the multi-billion dollar Daedalus class ship core, effectively taking it off the SGCs hands.

Down in the bases laboratory, Carter and several scientists worked hard on the computer system, Asgard based but with a human designed interface and various components recreated from Atlantiss computers.
Ok, start regulating power to the computer core Sam ordered, kneeling down next to an open panel. One of the scientists nodded, connecting several wires to the computers exposed components. It slowly whirled to life, the panel lighting up as well as the screen attached to it.
The system is stable, power is being regulated without any problems
I think we did it The scientist replied. Sam smiled, seeing the computer was finally working after several days work. Though the first two attempts ended up in power overloads, and the third an explosion, the new Tauri super computer, or at least the prototype was complete. Ill go inform the general, make sure the power doesnt go over 7.2, alright? Sam said before walking out, getting a nod of reply from the scientist at the computer.
Its amazing isnt it? This thing is more powerful then a whole building full of our best super computers I wonder how many songs I could transfer over from my I-pod onto it? The soldier on guard joked, leaning against the wall with a scientist talking. All of them
Even a small version of this could hold every song that was ever made The scientist replied proudly, knowing he had helped in its creation.
Heh, when does it come out in stores? I know my kid would love one, he loves music The soldier said with a smirk, looking back over to the computer. All of sudden, a bright light surrounded the computer, before it suddenly disappeared in the blink of an eye.
W-W-What the hell!? The scientist said in pure shock, looking at the empty space where the computer was. The soldier hit the alarm beside him, red lights flashing across the base.
